"Perfect family getaway" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviewed August 2018

We stayed in one of the Bell tents and it was absolutely brilliant. We have two young girls and they loved every moment of it.

Damien and Jo met us from the car and couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. We had loads of space, the beds were comfortable and the shower blocks were absolutely spotless.

We can't wait to go back

Just back from a brilliant two night stay in one of the stargazer yurts (even though the clouds prevented any stargazing!). All hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodating and everything we needed was available. Facilities were lovely and clean and dogs were more than welcome! Thanks for a lovely stay, would definitely recommend

We have returned from our stay here in the dome tent which was excellent, all the luxuries of camping! We were so well looked after for our stay and nothing was too much trouble. Would really recommend for something different.

"Such a perfect night away"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviewed July 2018

We stayed one night in the Country Kabin and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a couple’s getaway or family holiday.

Jo and Damien were absolutely fantastic hosts and made the trip special and one to remember; on arrival we were greeted with glasses of fresh, cold lemon ice tea. We were shown our Kabin and given details of the campsite, how to use all of the equipment in the Kabin and pointing us in the right direction of the local area and points of interest.

They we so helpful, friendly and accommodating with plenty of knowledge of the area despite only being there a few months. They even added a few extra special touches like a complimentary bottle of champagne, flowers (although was not sure if they were for us or for decoration, we liked them all the same and didn’t take them in case) and card of congratulations of our first year together as a couple which we thought was so lovely of them!

The Kabin itself was so cute and cosy! It was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfy and we slept really well. There was a heater in both rooms, although not needed due to the summer heat! And the fire pit was great with plenty of kindling, charcoal and logs, meant we could watch the stars and relax all the evening.

The bathrooms we spotless and well maintained, you often saw a Jo or Damien popping their heads in to ensure all was in order, which it was.

My only suggestion to other campers, is if you fancy a drink in the evening (and don’t want to drive), make sure you bring plenty with you as there is nowhere local to walk to. We were a little under prepared so had to drive to a local pub to get some dinner and a bottle of wine 😊

All in all, I would highly recommend staying at the Dorset Country Holidays Glamping site! We had a lovely evening away and wished we could’ve stayed a little longer! Thank you again to Jo and Damien!

Had a great night away staying in a yurt. Thanks to Damian and jo who were very friendly and chatty telling us about a nice walk to a lake nearby and other information. They made sure everything was right for us. The yurt was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Double bed was better than some hotels we've been in. A lovely break from work life.

"Fabulous Break"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviewed June 2018

We were bought this break by our son and daughter and it totally lived up to expectations. We were greated on arrival with a welcome iced lemon tea by our hosts and shown to our bell tent. The tent was clean and very comfortable. The two pairs of site hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. As DIY campers it was a real treat to turn up and have everything in place ready to use. The facilities were clean and we would certainly go back.

This was a gift from our daughter and son in law for Christmas

Although we had to travel for 7hrs we were not disappointed. Helen and Ian messaged us in the morning to obtain a rough eta and sure enough there she was bang on time with a very welcome drink. Helen told us about the yurt we were staying in and what there was to do in the area. Ian came along later to ensure all was ok. It was. The yurt was furnished very well with everything we would need. There was a fire pit and BBQ area as well as a gas burner and a picnic bench - all outside. However there was an undercover area across from us we could use in case of inclement weather. Daniel and Jo took over the next morning and again made sure we had everything we needed. The toilet and shower facilities were spotlessly clean and warm. Would we come again? Absolutely we had a fabulous stay.

My partner and I, along with my daughter recently stayed in a yurt at this fabulous Glamping site. We were especially very impressed with the toilet block/showers, the exceptional friendly wardens, and the substantial amount of room the little one had to run about. The yurt had a tv and complimentary dvds and the site was also ideally situated for exploring Dorset/Somerset. Can't recommend it enough.

My partner & I have just spent a night at Dorset Glamping.
We were impressed with our tent which was larger than expected & very cosy.. the double bed was comfy & the electric fire kept us super cosy. The complimentary bottle of champagne was a lovely touch & the DVD library an unexpected surprise.. we didn't even expect a TV in the tent.. it was nice lying in bed watching the morning news.
The shower/toilet block was immaculately clean.. loved the background music as you enter!
Helen & Ian were fabulous.. nothing was too much trouble for them & they made us feel very welcome, taking time out to chat whenever our paths crossed.
We highly recommend the nearby Chinese takeaway.. (the menu is in the tent). We popped into town to grab some food which was delicious.
All in all a fab night away with a difference.. thank you Helen & Ian.

I cannot thank Rob and the rest of his team enough for our lovely stay! We were greeted with two hot cups of spiced apple which was amazing. We then were shown to our lovely cosy yurt and how to use everything. Staying in February was a risk but it couldn’t have been warmer or cosier! We had to turn the heater down at one point which surprised me no end. There’s so much around to do, even if it is just meandering around the beautiful countryside. Only comment would be the toilet blocks are spotless but very cold and the water isn’t the warmest at times but you get over that with camping! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in this beautiful part of Dorset. The accommodation we picked was the Dome. We were made very welcome by the on site team. Great place to be based for touring the surrounding area. My wife and myself had visited before during the summer but she was a bit worried about the cold when I booked this surprise couple of days. However inside the dome was as warm as toast. Thank you for the Champagne. A lovely touch. See you in the summer!

“Love the Yurt" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reviewed 29th November 2017

My partner and I chose to stay in one of the Yurts. When we were shown to our Yurt we were both amazed by the amount of space and the amenities - I've never had a coffee machine in my tent before, or a double bed. It was a bitterly cold day but the Yurt was lovely and warm thanks to the heater, it got so warm that we even turned it off and the yurt kept the heat in. We had a lovely time and will be back.

On the morning of our visit we received a text asking an approximate eta. When we arrived we were met by Helen and Ian who gave us a glass of lemon tea. Unfortunately our visit was during a week of rain so it was a bit soggy underfoot and we needed our wellies. The yurt was very comfortable and cozy. We we presented with a bottle of champagne as it was our anniversary, which was a lovely treat. The site is very well managed with clean facilities. Helen and Ian are so friendly and make you very welcome.

“Good experience - First Time Glampers" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviewed 7 August 2017
The wardens on site were really helpful, I had to text them to ask them how to turn off the light inside the dome and within minutes there were there.
The dome was really nice inside. Just like the pictures! And such a bonus to get the coffee machine, the tv/dvd player (they will lend you dvd's if you want to). The camping stove, kettle, bbq, fire pit, the electric coolbox etc - everything worked perfectly.
The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean and only a few steps from our Dome which was so handy.
We all really enjoyed our first glamping experience, all that was included and provided was exactly what we wanted and I thought it was very reasonably priced for 2 nights.

“Perfect for nature lovers” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reviewed 19 June 2017

I stayed in the bell tent but got to peek inside the dome and the yurt thanks to the staff and guests. Staff themselves are friendly and willing to help even when they are officially off duty, which is a nice touch. The atmosphere is peaceful, the surroundings are beautiful, if I had one complaint it would be that you really need a sat nav to get there if you don't know the area. Shaftesbury itself is sweet and eloquent and we found a hill from an old Hovis advert and ate some authentic English pies in a traditional wee pub. Had a lovely time and am likely to go back. Cleanliness is five star by the way, even though it's still camping and grass gets everywhere you won't find any in the bathrooms.
Room Tip: go for the yurt it looked fabulous.

I enjoyed a lovely nights stay in The Dome, it was spacious, clean and has an amazing window! (Curtains included)
The Dome was furnished with a comfortable bed, two futon chairs, bed side tables, lamps, a television, DVD player and cool boxes.
(essentially mini fridges)
In the morning, there's a gas hob to cook breakfast on.

Couldn't ask for a better wilderness trip, that isn't too wild! It's just the right balance.
No need to dig a hole when nature calls! There's a toilet block too! With showers!

Loved my stay and I'll definitely be booking again.

We booked for the bank holiday and stayed in a bell tent. Wow! Free cereal, tea, coffee there was even a bottle of water with their logo, very posh.
We thought we'd brought our own sleeping bags, when we found the bag had travel pillows instead the staff was really helpful. They had bedding in our tent in no time, even made the bed for us!
The tent had everything we needed (even plates and knives and forks, and enough sockets to charge noth our phones and having the hanging lantern light on too.)
We did ask to peak into some of the other glamping pods before we left, they were so posh. Who gets a coffee machine in a tent!? Amazing!
We'll be back!

As keen Campers my wife and i thought we would have a change this year and experience Glamping. We booked up with Dorset Country Holidays with just a rough idea what Glamping was all about.... IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!

We where treated like royalty from the moment we received a welcome text message from the team!, We where greeted with beverages as we checked in, and the team kindly carried our luggage to the Yurt!

The yurt was kitted out brilliantly! we had a double bed, TV and DVD player, Cool box, heater and tea and coffee facilities presented in a luxurious hamper. it was certainly a far cry from pitching a tent in the rain! We made use of our fire pit and BBQ although one evening we did take advantage of the takeaway menus supplied too! The shower block on site is clean and well presented too.

Rob and the team where fabulous throughout, from carrying luggage to helping light a BBQ nothing is a trouble for them! The site is a 5 minute drive from nearby Shaftesbury which is a lovely little town with some nice walks, fantastic views and the famous Gold hill!

My only negative is that we couldn't stay longer! We have booked up again already and cant wait to visit Rob and the team soon, As for our old traditional tent....... that can stay in the shed!!!!!!

Kids visited with Grandparents last year and asked to go back as they loved it so much , this time I went too and can see why they did! What a superb 2 night stay we had, the safari style bell tent was fantastic and very clean, extremely pleased that the toilets and showers were also very clean. Staff were friendly, polite and very helpful and you could tell they loved their jobs, nothing was a problem for them. It was nice to chill in the evenings roasting marshmallows and watch the kids being kids, all playing and mixing and not an Xbox in sight! I can see us booking up for a third year in 2018! I don't understand the complaints in some reviews, our stay was amazing!

“2 night stay for 30th Birthday” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reviewed 2 May 2017
Just got back from the most amazing two night stay here. Stayed in the Explorer style Bell Tent as a couple for my partner's 30th Birthday. We have never been Glamping before, so had no real expectations and had no idea what to pack and what facilities they might have. Turned out they had everything we could want or need! We booked late check-in, and ended up getting stuck in a lot of traffic, so arrived later than planned but the hosts Jim and Alice, were fine with his. They were amazing, friendly and incredibly helpful the whole time! The tent was lovely and we were more than comfortable and happy with everything provided. It looked exactly like the photos. The bathroom and showers were great - excellent condition and cleaned every morning.. Even better than staying in some hotels! The only thing I might change about it would be if the shop had a better variety... but this is nothing to do with the camp site, and I was even warned about this prior to arriving by Daniel!!

Thanks so much :) we will more than likely be making another trip here... I can't wait!

“Perfect winter break!” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reviewed 5 March 2017
I stayed in the glamping dome with my family and couldn't be happier with the results! As per usual, the weather in the UK was chilly yet the peace and quiet of the Blackmore countryside was breath taking.

If the winter weather caught us feeling cold, a quick step into our dome would change our mood immediately! The space was as warm as summer, and furnished with all the essentials you could hope for. TV, with a huge DVD selection, as well as a great comfy bed and a fancy nespresso machine!

The site owner even greeted us on arrival and made us feel as welcome as if we were family. He gave us hot home made drinks and recommended a walk in the nearby field. The kids loved stomping on crisp grass and the dogs loved the open area and chasing birds from the fishing pond.
The amazing and attentive staff were forthright in providing us complimentary wellies and umbrellas if there was so much as a hint of rain.

My family and I couldn't be happier with our break and my husband is adamant that we return again to try the other cosy accommodations.
Thank you again Rob for the amazing stay and a glimpse into the timeless British countryside.
